Medusa

by AngelaLuisaCory   Mar 18, 2016

Medusa spreads her locks before
With such a welcoming smile.
The willow bends to touch its prey
with tears meant to beguile.
Femininity, with outstretched arms
Welcomes all within -
Reality fades with dusk of night
and creeps when day begins.
When Beauty shows its charms to man
But orders to destroy,
Once safe in mother's arms at birth
No longer when a boy.
The power of a woman's heart
Obsessive in it's force
Destructive in its maiden flight
Pursues a thoughtless course.
Predestined shadows, intermingling,
All in view is lured-
So, Medusa laughs in ripples
Humanity obscurred

    Love this,

short snappy lines with plenty of images conjured.

The rhyme works well and helps the flow.

I just love the second to last line, very clever.

    great piece.

Hopefully someone will nominate this as I am out of nominations.
