There is a child for whom I care
Though no true blood of mine.
I hope he will forgive me
With the passage of more time.

I had no choice but leave him there
I know I could not stay,
I just hope that he'll forgive me,
But all I do is pray.

I know a child, so very small
And all he's ever known
Are people who he cares for
Reject him and go home.

I hope that when he's older
And recalls when he was young
That a lady really loves him
And regrets what she has done

Oh, I've been here too. Being in a relationship and forming a deep bond with their child. This is all well and good, but when the relationship fails what we lose is double.

    Take care,

This really touched my heart. Blood is not always thicker then water. You can love a child whether it is biological or not. And he will always remember that.

This is a poignant poem, its easy to love some children even though they are not our own. I think about all the broken families in todays times and how many children get shoved from pillar to post. I think children treasure the love that they receive even if it is only for a short while. I think there will always be a part of him that will remember
