On The Banks Of Time

by John Doe   Mar 25, 2016

I sat on the silent sand,
as the water trickled below my feet.
A silent drone of passing life,
while I stayed where I've been.
It was the dawn of dusk,
the sky had started to turn blue.
Washing away the golden sunlight,
as if dirt, by the drops of dew.
And I sat there,
with my feet in the water and head in the sky.
And I sat there,
watching life pass by.
It was melancholy again,
who would kiss me goodnight.
And with the touch of her lips,
I would give up my fight.
And I would flow,
along with the passing life.
And I would flow,
giving up my beloved strife.
Let the water,
absolve me of me.
Flood my lungs,
and set me free.
And push me onshore,
where I'd wait to be found.
So they could box me up,
and bury in the ground.
Let my body rot,
and my spirit be absolved of crimes.
Then with the piety of a free conscience,
I'll live on the banks of time.

From Start till the end, I never felt disconnected. I think the last two lines says you will live as a ghost for the rest of the time.
