If I were to drive a car with a look of silent fear, A blank unsteady mind losing gas on second gear. Deep in a silent stupor unaware there is a red, Not a stop light or a sign would phase my look ahead. There is no gas pedal when a brake is fun to ride, No way to exit the lane when I feel the need to hide. Afraid of my surroundings, in slow motion on the street, The one that's in control has wheels instead of feet. Traffic backed up for miles until I manage a left turn, In the rear view mirror of terror open eyes that cannot learn. Blinking lights that follow when my car rolls to a stop, A blurted stutter to explain "Why!" to a traffic cop. The license now in question over my ability to drive, A thought to get me off the road when my miles per hour is five.
