Continent of resources

by DarkLight   Mar 28, 2016

I would write of African
not as a continent,
but how many outsiders think,
a country.
But that's not me,
I couldn't,
wouldn't write about children dying of hunger
or unstable politics and the very unending corruption sucking the very little energy left in the hearts of the dwellers.
The militias killing christians,
or christians killing each other in the name of a god who is too afraid to fight his/her own battles.
No, I will write of the beauty in Africa,
where life is lived, loved and enjoyed.
I will write of hard working men, women and children
ready to see thais country bloom.
I will write of the natural resources surrounding the natives, the minerals that many die mining only to end up empty stomach at the end of the day.
Such beauty going to waste due to greedy individuals.
That country is not a country,
it's a continent in conflict with its creator.

Beautiful descriptives of your beloved Africa. So much strife and unrest but also breath-taking landscapes and life.
