African Hair Story

by DarkLight   Apr 9, 2016

For in her tears,
reflection of my hurtful heart glittered,
and could not hold back the pain anymore.
I had failed,
not once
not twice,
the thought of breaking such news to her would leave her broken more than she is.
How should I live another second behind such guilt?
I have few months left,
then all my misery will end.
I don't wish much,
only regret for not having my last dinner with you.
Not to ever look you deep in the eyes and say I miss having you around.

The ship may have sailed,
but am here now,
waiting,
waiting for you to come back home.
Let's do that funny dance I promised,
and will let you tell me stories of african hair.
I promised you forever,
may your smile help me honor it ever.
