True love waits

Love will wait a lifetime
for that one
special someone...
-
Love will cross oceans
to be with
you hearts desire
it will seek out
from the far reaches
of the edge of the world
just to connect
just to have that chance
of happiness...
-
I have had
a lifetime of travel
ever searching
for my one and only
my path has been strewn
with the deepest valleys
the highest peaks
obstacles at every turn...
-
Then I found you-
my hearts desire
the one who
understands me
and completes me-
my souls core...

    What a lovely piece and very true. 'love will wait a lifetime and cross oceans.'
    I was lucky enough to meet my love at a young age and he crossed over the Yorkshire border to be with me in Manchester lol so not oceans but there abouts Hehe. You always wrote so well, I like how you write about peoples experiences then your own.

      Em, Thank you so much! That's totally crossing over borders and land masses-lol! I count that...:) Some people are lucky to meet their true love early, others have to live with a few toads before that happens-lol. I definitely fell into the toad category, sigh...I try to incorporate my own experiences and others when I write, other people have such amazing stories, it sometimes helps me center out what I'm trying to say/ Thank you again!     Brenda your life and mine seem like mirrors. You are right you can travel across oceans and wait a life time but eventually your true love will come. I too travelled across the World over mountains and seas and finally found my soul mate waiting for me

      Milly, thank you! How wonderful you too have found your soul mate! After two failed marriages I never thought I'd find that person let alone get married again-but here I am and he makes me so very happy! Isn't love grand? Hugs! Brenda

    Lovely poem and you are right: Love will wait a lifetime for 'that one special someone'
    I like how you switch from personifying love to writing in the first person and then opening up to the reader about your own misadventures with it: "my path has been strewn (love that word by the way) with the deepest valleys" but then how you go on to say "Then I found....my hearts desire"

    Love really is full of ups and downs. I wonder: would we have it any other way because those 'ups' really are great, aren't they? lol

      Ben, thank you so much! You hear so many stories of people doing just about anything to be with their true love. I know I would travel the world just to be by my husbands side if we were separated. Totally agree with how fun the ups are-lol! I too love the word "strewn"-it just adds something doesn't it?
