Breath after breath

by Koan   Apr 10, 2016

Oh, my Beautiful Beloved!
Your divine love is the life-giving light that
illuminates my world from the deepest valleys to heavens height.
And the words you whisper into the thin ether
are firebirds, Phoenixes
that are flying deep inside my soul
with such a passion
that they bring tears to my eyes..

And breath after breath

I feel it... more and more,
deeper and deeper the burning flames of desire
catches on fire,
crumbling the pillars of my prison
and slowly turning to ashes
my cage of sorrow,
letting this lonely prisoner,
my heart,
beat freely
once again,
forever..

Believe me when I say....and I reserve this phrase for special people.....you, my friend are a poetry freak.......

"Your divine love is the life-giving light that
illuminates my world from the deepest valleys to heavens height.
And the words you whisper into the thin ether
    are firebirds"

    Um-m-mmmm...more free verse, I see.
Does anyone write rhymed and metered poetry with a rigid structure and composition any longer, or have all modern-day poets resorted to the more abstract, contemporary styles?
This is not meant as a criticism of this fine write in any way, merely an observation borne of curiosity.
This is indeed emotive and expressive free verse. There is much fire and a burning passion clearly evident in your eloquent words.
"...crumbling the pillars of my prison"...Nice consonance of "p"--a lovely melody of "p", in fact.

    Wonderfully well written.

I nominated this piece for many reasons my friend and here is why...

I love and adore poetry that sings within emotion.

This poem has elegance and when I read this piece, it was the powerful feeling and emotion that poured out in each line. When a poem can do that? It's worthy of a nomination.

You always mesmerize me with your poetry.

Phoenix : Powerful rise about the ashes, a Resurrection in it's finest...

A very powerful, emotional and heartfelt poem by you!
