Pine

by NateCanpbell   Apr 13, 2016

As I sit here in this quiet room,
The silence it just kills me.
I want to hear my children's laugh,
I just want them near me.

Reagan I want you to read to me,
Each book that you may want to.
And tell me about all the things,
That you may want to do.

Now Ty, I just want to sit outside,
Just with the fire pit going.
While we wait for the food to cook,
The pig skin we'll be throwing.

Bella, I want to lay on the couch,
And watch the Buckeyes play.
Or maybe turtles, maybe frozen,
Be able to hug you all day.

So to you all I make this promise,
That one day it will all be fine.
But as for today and till we're together,
For you guys my heart will pine.

This was a beautiful write. As a mother, I feel your longing for those moments with your kids. This was a well-written, heartwarming poem.

Nate, this is beautiful and brought a tear to my eye. It shows that you love your children but possibly you can't do these things with then a much as you'd possibly like to.

The piece itself is so smooth and the rhythm is unforced which makes it more enjoyable to read.

    Take care, Em

Fantastic piece from you Nate'..The ryhming is just simple yet perfect..But what I like more here is the image that you created for I could almost see the children with you in the warmth of the house.
