My Loving Heart:

by Scott Cole   Apr 20, 2016

My poor old shattered heart
It has weathered much abuse,
From girlfriend to girlfriend
That just ran out of juice.

All of those little breakups
Those tiny hairline fractures,
From the breaking of my heart
As I'm lead out to pasture.

My foundation is alittle shaky
I can hardly hold your weight,
Or hide all my hurting pains
In such a heart that easily breaks.

So from this moment forward
My collapsed heart it is condemned,
Just like a diamond in the rough
Or that very rarely polished gem.

I think I wanna save my passion
That special love within my heart,
For that one in a million lady
Not the ones that tear apart.

So if you should dare to love me
And help hold up my walls,
Yeah I may be slightly damaged
But my big heart is worth the fall.

Scott, this brought a tear to my eye to talk of being 'slightly damaged' and 'condemned' shows that you have had a lot of heartache but there are people out there that are worth taking a risk for because they will love us for us and nothing else.
Although, I for one know how tough it is to get back up once broken.

    Take care, Em
