In the spinning barrel
a cancer bullet hides;
the hammer strikes the pin
and before your time you die.

    Excellent short poem. How true it is that spinning barrel of life. I like the concise way that your poetry portrays so much emotion in such a small package Milly x

    Hello Michael

    No surprise at all, but what a wonderfully crafted piece of poetry this is from you. Everything you submit is clever and original; no word wasted nor effort spared to create a piece of art. Time and care goes into your work, and that is very evident when reading.
    I was thinking along the same lines as this poem the other day. Life is a lottery - a minefield that we all run through in the simple hope that by simple luck, we are not wounded in the blast.
    Brilliant.

    All the best,
    Ben

    It is shocking how impactful and powerful this poem is in just four short lines. In this short form you have pulled at every string in my heart. Cancer is a horrible, horrible disease, and you conveyed the heartbreak so effortlessly here, with beautifully destructive visuals.

    Hello Michael, this is powerful. So much said in a few lines. Life is like playing Russian roulette and we often take chances. We feel like certain things can't happen to us. That is definitely the wrong answer. Cancer is on the rise, attacking young, old no matter what. So many have lost their lives. It's so sad. Makes you really wonder and more should appreciate this great gift called life. While others fighting this battle with so much hope and faith others are just wasting it away. That's how I see it. Beautiful write. All the best
