Through Her Eyes:

by Scott Cole   May 3, 2016

Oh look into her blue eyes
Her windows to her soul,
And remember all you saw
As you take your little stroll.

It's such a shame I never knew
All the reasons for her pain,
The truth behind her teardrops
That comes down just like rain.

Yes the answer is so clear
From this side of the glass,
The light is so much brighter
I see why they had to pass.

Her nerves are slightly cracked
From years and years of hurt,
From sitting at this window
And listening to me blurt.

Those depressing little words
That's released from my mouth,
Brought forth her thundrrstorms
Which carried her sorrow South.

In the corner of her blue eyes
Where her cornea is attached,
Lies her raingutters of misery
Where all of her tears detach.

I'm glad I took this grandtour
This glance into her eyes,
And I'm glad that I finally know
All those reason that she cries.

Oh look into my baby blues
And please listen to what I say,
For the rest of my lifetime
I will chase away your grey.

So for tears yet to be here
I wish them all the luck,
For if they're filled with hate
I pray they all get stuck.

I'll never fire that one bullet
That causes her window pain,
Releasing all of those teardrops
That will forever hurt and stain.

Cause words are just like daggers
They will slice away your soul,
Making enemies out of friends
When bad words are in control.

This stanza is my favourite and very true because words are the most powerful thing especially when hurtful as they stick to us like glue. I like how you say they slice at your soul because they do and they break it bit by bit if we let them.

    Great write, Em
