    Hello Larry,

I see this as a person, possibly a typical man? Belittling a common cold as a mere inconvenience. The title shows this as macho statement meant to come across as brave. The first two lines come across to me as the realisation that a life of experiences crumples in on itself when the reality of a common cold is not it at all; not by a long shot. The final line where the revalation is reveal, some kind of volta is that the reoccurring (I surmise) colds are actually symptoms of a (possible) terminal, or at least dreadful disease.

I'm not sure if I have read too much into this (probably), but it just goes to show how we can make more or less of something.

    Take care,

    Michael

Nah, I'm a baby when it comes to being sick. It consumes me so totally I cannot imagine ever having felt better.

    Larry

This gets my nomination simply because I agree and can relate to it perfectly. People forget how dreadful colds can be , lol

    All the best

I recall reading somewhere that the presence of estrogen actually helps the person fight off illnesses better (usually the flu). There's an article about it here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-3397753/Man-flu-real-virus-hits-men-harder-Female-sex-hormone-estrogen-reduces-virus-s-ability-replicate-women.html

    that said, get well soon!

First off I'd like to say to you gentlemen to stop whining about being ill Hehe no seriously though I know how bad colds can be, they are a real nightmare (I have sinusitis so always struggle)

Secondly, I'd like to say good job Larry you turn something so simple and made it perfect, as always.

    When you are this sick
    ^^
Being so sick is a nightmare and something I struggle a lot with like many others do.

    time collapses on itself
    ^^
Love the imagery here of time struggling on by itself because when ill we feel like time is stopping. I know I do.

    you were never well.
    ^^
A harsh reality of never being well or never feeling well because the illness consumes you.

    All in all fab, Em
