The Awakening

by Hellon   May 24, 2016

As frozen tears thaw
to rest upon a petal,
delicate as your memory,
I reach out to you
inviting you to mingle
upon salted cheeks
while once again remembering
flowers in bloom
yet, inside I wither
realising
the taste of you
has long evaporated....

This is so eloquently written, Hellon.

The title captures the sentiment well...we cannot escape that one moment when we realise that what we had is no longer there, no matter how long tried to fool ourselves into thinking it was still there.

    Well done!

    Judge Comment:

This is so elegant and full of emotion, I cant begin to comment.
I was blown away by this piece.

Hellon, penned such a pretty poem.
Yearning a person or love, that has gone away or may have even passed on, brings such deep emotion to the fore front and when writing it is difficult to etch the words, and she simply amazed me.. true beauty!

    As beautiful as a blossom.

I like that way you have decorated this write. I sense that you are searching for the vital thing that will glow up your existence once again. This poem touched my heart. The paint of sadness is making this write unique and outstanding.

    Brilliantly written. Hellon
