Secret Forrest

by Maple Tree   Jun 2, 2016

There's a secret Forrest
Within my mind,
Where sparrows
Weep a melody
That only the
Moon could
Understand.

I've collected memories
That are meant for
Me, and me only.

Dangling from leaves
Of dew dipped sunshine,
Are love's of the lost,
People who I never
Speak of....
But within these stanzas
I honor their existence
And the impact they
Had upon my life.

One of them draws
Last breath,
These words are
Not meant to be
Understood,

The reader can
Only visualize
A small,
fallen leaf-

But

Within the secret
Forrest of my mind,
Nests a soul
That will never
Die....

Andrea, what an incredible raw, emotion filled piece. As Ben said it seems too personal to pull apart but was a joy to read. The structure of short, sharp sentences in each part made it easier on the eye and goes to show just how much emotion and thought went into this...

It's hard to have loved and lost, to lose people we love and to forget memories that we would prefer to forget but these times can only make us stronger (or so I tell myself) and the past does makes us the person we are today and you my dear are one of the most sincerest people on here.

    Hugs and best wishes,
    Em

    Maples,

This poem seems almost too personal to pull apart and analyse. It is incredibly moving and heartfelt.
The layout is a joy to view and your sprinkling of alliteration throughout is wonderful.
I will say no more other than I send you a big hug across the ocean!
    Take care Andrea,
    Ben
