Scatter

by Maher   Jun 2, 2016

Give an inch, take a mile,
deceived by lowly banter.
Trip upon an empty stage and miss the sound of laughter.
Hide the crime, draw the veil,
push law toward disaster.
Speak the truth in times of need; behold the way they scatter.

    I agree with ems comment.
We can all take something huge from such a small piece.

Maher, another insightful and enthralling write from you with a really powerful message. You say so much in a short piece that many of us can take advice from.

Give an inch, take a mile,
    deceived by lowly banter.
    ^^
A powerful opening. This happens far too often nowadays. People giving their all to be met with nothing or no-one in return because of deception etc.

Trip upon an empty stage and miss the sound of laughter.
    ^^
Wow. Quite often we trip and fall and miss the finer things in life like smiling, laughing and worse still what's there in front of us (love.)

Hide the crime, draw the veil,
    push law toward disaster.
    ^^
I love this part because far too often we hide too well behind deception, crime and 'veils' instead of standing up for what we believe in and what is right thus pushing the law towards disaster.

Speak the truth in times of need; behold the way they scatter.
    ^^
A very powerful, truthful ending because if you do speak your mind or the truth many people will 'scatter' as they don't like what they hear but it's a free country or so I thought though many of us cannot express our feelings / thoughts freely.

Fabulous write as always with plenty food for thought.

Edit* I hope this gets nominated as out of votes myself.
