The Crypt Keeper

by Maple Tree   Jun 7, 2016

These twisted

old bones

quiver

within

a

crypt

of

cynical

skeletons.

Tears mixed with moldy
pages of a journal,
which at one time
became sacred syllables.

It's a new dawning
within a dark sky,
words spill from
a mind that
refuses to fall victim
to the chains that
rattle within

my

soul.

    Hello Andrea

As dark as the tone is at the start of this piece, it ends with a lovely note of optimism which is lovely to read (for me, anyway!)

"quiver within a crypt of cynical skeletons"

    ^^

Great line. Imagery, alliteration, the way you have displayed it etc.

    Love this. All the best,

    Ben
