Heaven Can Wait

by Baby Rainbow   Jun 11, 2016

This poem is not distracted by metaphors and rhyme
because this black ink is speaking
truly from the depths of my heart.

Loving you gave me no reason to ever feel alone,
it gave me faith that our love would always be true -
I felt rescued by rescuing you!

I wanted you to stay with me until your dying day,
but it is so unfair to know that day is approaching soon,
when you will only be 13 years old.

You will be leaving so many friends behind,
so many broken hearts and puffy eyes.
What about the prints you will also leave,
they appear in every single heart you ever touched;
believe me, that has been a lot!

You are needed elsewhere soon,
Rainbow Bridge is calling for you,
but the truth is that I want you here,
your heart belongs with me.

So let the angels call you home,
Heaven can wait for a while,
until I am ready to let you go!
