Blank canvas (emotional)

by Darren   Jun 12, 2016

Those early memories of happiness
the hugs, the encouragement
feeling important
feeling wanted
hosed down by inner demons
demoralization delivered daily
by a reflected image

brush strokes of my mind
envisage a smattering of senryu's

born a blank canvas
primed with potential through love
'doubt' my graffiti

this portrait is skewed
a frown creasing the canvas
tears smudging my art

these negative thoughts
channelling too deep brush strokes
painting love is lost

mirrors the worst art
this canvas of hate and shame
can't avoid windows

painting my tombstone
lay upon the fresh grey paint
hoping it is real

Darren I agree with Darren "
Darren when are you going to write something new?

It's been nearly a year you lazy git."

    Well?

Interesting poem Darren, I'm still trying to work out what the hell it is about!! lol!
Seriously, it's an interesting piece of work that mirrors I feel what's going on inside the writer.
    A good write!
