Comments : I Found the Love I'm Looking For

S, I love this everything about it was perfect.
The rhyming, the words fit like a love and run so smooth on the page.
Made me want to read more though it didn't need it must was really good.

Far to often we let people go because we feel we are no good for them or because we have been hurt in the past and just can't deal with being hurt again which is ashame as that could have been our love for life then again I do believe we all find our soul mate in the end.

    All the best, Em

Thank you Em, you rock! The problem with loving is there is no guarantee that love will be returned. I am very familiar with that notion; I flirt with the wrong guy, I get punched in the face. It would be much easier being straight, as a gay man I seem to have a penchant for falling for straight men.

Thanks for always being a great friend and poet!

Love poems, and unrequited love poems, are definitely my specialty :D Glad you enjoyed it, even twice! Look forward to sharing my specialty with you!

    Hello Stephen

Firstly, let me just say that I have a funny habit of clicking onto a poem in the Love section and being swept away with the ludicrous expectation that the words will be filled with romance, joy, kisses under the moonlight, candles, and - well, love!
Then people like you come along and smote those ridiculous notions clean away! lol. And so you should. Love is rarely a smooth retelling of those things, but in fact tends to be more about yearning, heartbreak and oftentimes - as you recount so well here - feelings of complete inadequacy.
The rhyming is smooth and a pleasure to read and the content is something many can relate to, I am sure.

All the very best and I hope you are well,
    Ben

I actually did that entirely on purpose, and I'm glad you noticed/appreciated that. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment on it, and being particularly honest through it all.

Ouch. I wasn't expecting this after seeing that title. I thought "it's always a beautiful thing to find the love you're looking for", but then you hit me with this. Lol

While a bit heartbreaking, I can't help but find it beautifully written.

Sorry to disappoint and please at the same time ;) I am glad that you enjoyed it, and perhaps I'll have to write one to sate your desire for a poem that deals with it being "a beautiful thing to find the love you're looking for" ;)

Where good lies, men are blind to see. Where value is found, there's content.

Thanks again for your insight, Marv. You always do well at pretty much summing my entire poem up in two sentences, which endlessly impresses me!

Hi, I have felt like this (more times than I care to admit). I love your poem for its duality - the love described by your poem is an idealisation of love (a display) but with the depth of soul (a gut instinct that tells you that this is the person you should be with).

It's crazy that sometimes you just know something is right even when it'll never be.
Rest in peace our desires for all those pokemon we'll always want, but never catch.

      Thanks for reading :-)

Awww Stephen, I just love this! It's so hard when you know this person is so right for you and you just let them go. Perhaps they never knew how you felt? I know sometimes you just have to leap off that cliff and free fall, it's scary as hell but so much more fun than just treading water. Well done-

In the gay world, if you hit on the wrong guy, you'll get punched in the face. Most of the time, I don't even pursue interests due to a fear of finding out that the person may not even be gay. Some men take it in stride, but others blow it out of proportion. It's a shame it has to be that way, but it is much easier to just fall alone than to co-ordinate someone to be below to catch me.

So glad you enjoyed this piece :-) Thanks for reading!

      Much love,
