    Maher, what an enthralling write as always but with a sad story behind it. We have all been here in our lives and if not then we will come across it at some point, unfortunately. Though I feel this piece is abit more than just about death but of a person that has had negativity within their lives for so long and now had enough.

    Tread smiles on days and carry on.
    Let tragic wonder bare it's scorn.
    Lest I should find some peace in you,
    translate the dark to bright and new
    ^^^^
    A beautiful, powerful but sad opening stanza. I feel it's abit like a plea from a broken soul to someone they have currently just met wanting them to help take all their badness away and give them a new light, new start.

    This fall of leaves, it holds some truth
    as the stars start lying to the moon.
    They whisper softly in her ear;
    her dark side plays upon her fears
    ^^^
    Beautiful imagery here. I could imagine being that person the stars whispering to me and the dark playing on my fears which they do anyway (lol)

    Encounter days as they draw fast;
    the future hinges on the past.
    Archaic symbols pave the way;
    distill the darkness from the day
    ^^
    My fave stanza. Love the imagery. I can imagine being in one day then blinking and being in the next still full of dark thoughts yet hoping and praying for them to go away but not allowing them to because the past is the past but makes us who we are today.

    A loss of life, where tears are due;
    an open casket crowds the room.
    Warm memories now stain the sands
    as the beaches wave to fallen friends.
    ^^
    Again, great I imagery. I can feel, see, smell the flesh as the casket is open.
    I feel now this is about a fallen soldier with the last line.

    All in all, as always fantastic imagery, rhyming and piece overall.

      Thanks again Em and that's a very interesting interpretation of it. The goal of writing these is to have everyone who reads them interpret it in their own way and if it ends up forming a bond with something personal to them, mission accomplished :)

      Thanks again for pulling it apart! You better keep this up, it's the fun part of submitting them :p
