Passive

by Crystal   Jun 22, 2016

I laid dormant deep in heart
Deep in thought
Truly distraught

Waiting peacefully
Patiently
Prayerfully

Through hurts
Horrors
And hunger for companionship

Like the waves of an ocean
People came and left
Returned again
Just to leave again

My heart must be molded
An open vase
Welcoming people in and out of heart, mind and soul

The sandpaper is almost done
Better things will soon begin
I am the place of comfort, understanding and tranquility... I am passive.

(Description of how my past is combining with my future.)

Crystal, I really like this piece. I like how you describe continually being molded because of past and present people and relationships. I see you more strong and determined than passive. Well done-look forward to more writes from you-Brenda

I can relate to the first two lines of this poem:

"I laid dormant deep in heart
    deep in thought"

I'm glad to see that despite the hurt and the horrors, a soul was able to find tranquility. There's a hint of positivity in the poem.
