On the Road

by Domenico Sottile   Jun 26, 2016

On the Road

On the road of lost memories
the sun glitters
to link us to the past
and to heal the heart

Life takes away so much
But then makes amends and wipes the tears
The road and my heart are friends once more
Memories now do not hurt us as much
The dew of time has levied
a mantle of peace and wisdom
on the aching soul

My glory is what I do.
What I did are glories of the past.
Forgotten glories perhaps are the best

I totally love the meaning behind this write- so many people dwell on the past and allow it to destroy them and never move forward. I love how you wrapped up with describing your glories and them being in the now not the past. Well done-

Domenico, I really liked this piece. It's very inspirational and many of us can learn alot from it's meaning.

On the road of lost memories
    the sun glitters
to link us to the past
    and to heal the heart
    ^^
Memories lost are sometimes the best but we cannot forget our past because they make us who we are today. Our heartaches' make us stronger, I believe. Love the imagery of they sun glittering to link our pasts and heal our hearts.

    Life takes away so much
But then makes amends and wipes the tears
The road and my heart are friends once more
    ^^
Life stresses can take their toll can't they? Then something or someone good happens to us to level it out. Love the last line here and the imagery it portrays.

Memories now do not hurt us as much
The dew of time has levied
a mantle of peace and wisdom
    on the aching soul
    ^^
Love, love, love this as even though we have stresses, we all come out the other side.. Well hopefully as I'm still stressing (lol)

My glory is what I do.
What I did are glories of the past.
Forgotten glories perhaps are the best
    ^^
A very meaningful ending which many of us I feel could learn from.

    Fantastic, Em
