WOW! I would have never picked up on the first line thing! Very creative!!! :) Well done! :) |
I like to throw little easter eggs in some of my poems, but this one I felt like no one would get so I gave it away :P |
I will keep an eye out :) |

What a clever write here; very original. It is sad that democracy has reached a point when all we are often left with is 'the lesser of two evils'. |
It is a shame the state of the world, though there have been worse times and I'm sure there have been better times. I do think, however, that it will take a few generations until humans realize the need to work together, especially when it comes down to saving ourselves and our families, perhaps even the planet. Democracy, these days, has just become false populism, making people feel like they control the state of things but just giving them strings not connected to anything to control. Illusions of control make a human feel powerful enough to disregard reality. |
I never noticed the first line thing. This is very clever and original. I was going to vote for Trump, and I might change my mind. |
Thank you very much for your comment, and for reading this :) As an American, I hope you'll make the decision that's best for the country, whichever you think that may be. As long as you get out and vote! |
Very clever piece of prose. We in the UK are going through a massive political upheaval so I can sympathise although I don't really understand who would be good or bad out of the two of them for the USA. I think whenever it comes to voting the population of whichever country is torn not knowing which of the politicians is telling the truth and which is just spinning a good tale. A nice current piece. I have heard that things are a bit messy over there, and it's hard to follow politics when your own are overwhelming and teeming with chaos. Thank you for reading and commenting, and it's nice to see a politically kindred spirit here on PnQ! |

A great, truthful acrostic. |
I didn't realize how many regulars were from the UK until I posted this and realized it's mostly irrelevant to a great majority of everyone! Goodness! Thanks for reading, anyway, glad you enjoyed it :-) |

Stephen, wonderful creative write! It's pretty sad that's who we get to choose from, sigh.... |
Lol, just realized I put an extra "L" line in there. Oh well, it gets the point across...tic. Hah! Edits have been made! |

Nice poem. I like the way you rhymed the last word in each sentence of each paragraph. |
Thank you very much for reading! :-) |

I agree with this poem in a very strong stance. I'm fearful of how this will all go. The next 4 years could be very difficult for us after this election. Either way, this poem is well done and saturated in truth. |

Stein tho. |
Yes, unfortunately most Americans buy into the whole "You only get to choose between these two candidates", when that's not the reality of it, and that's barely democracy at all, especially when the candidates are very nearly always wealthy. It ends up being more of an Oligarchy. |
