Never been old before

by patrick   Jul 8, 2016

Gone the age of the innocent
Taken near on seven decades to get me here
From this vantage point
I see things from a different angle
Life's a multifaceted spin!
Spiralling, plummeting, swirling, twisting, distorting,
But so dam exciting?

Gone is the age of the innocent
It's a perception thing of note
Digital delights aside it's all imagination!
The theatre of the mind just got wings
You want to fly with me or what?

Fellow survivor, we have lived through a great many roller coaster rides indeed. We may be in a unique position, having lived through the complacency of the old guard, the revolution of our own generation and the resulting shift in the entire social order that resulted.

Perhaps the age of the innocent has not so much gone away but is slumbering in the next few generations who cannot conceive of what was gone through to get us here.

Patrick I really enjoyed this piece.
As the others said when we get older our perceptions change because we are no longer that innocent child and it reminds me of a quote.. 'i would rather have skinned knees than a broken heart' or something of the sort.
I will come fly with you as anywhere would be better than here with the way things are at the moment in society.
    Job well done, Em
