A tragic ode to a story I, myself, wish had a happier turn. I'm sorry this happened to you. The three verses: the sun, the moon, and the stars... they were wholly touching. Ingenious use of allegory, and you tied it together nicely with a subtle ending that makes the reader understand this pain does not end with the poem.

    Perfect, and nominated.

This is such a sad piece. No one can ever describe how much they miss someone when it's this much and has Stephen said the pain from missing this person will unlikely go from writing this either. I'm at this stage of missing someone when we aren't together because they mean so much to me and made me believe that I am worthy of live etc.

    Loved this, Em

    Dear Liz,

With maturity comes the realisation that there are many sides to a coin. Reading this, I feel this is about a person you have ambiguous feelings for and that you wish you could have loved as was intended. They did not 'reach for the stars', and you had no other option than to accept them as they were. You miss the role they had in your life, but because of how they were you don't feel the emotional connection and the grief that would have been there had they been different (towards you)

You know why I know, right? ;-)

    Love, always xxx Ingrid

Jesus Christ this is beautiful. I cannot even begin to tell you how much I relate to this poem, especially now, mere two weeks after the first year anniversary of my best friend & soulmate's death. It's insanely bittersweet, but beautiful. Thank you.

    Liz,

This piece moved me immensely and I was sorry not to see it on the front page but many congratulations on your hm. This - rightly - has touched many people on this site and it certainly brought a wretched lump to my own throat.
    A special write,
