In the end
We were just two people
Drowning in ideas of love
Timing lost with every promise
Preventing either from submitting
Maybe one day I'll see you
Or you'll see me
And time will melt away
Lives and minds
Better prepared
You'll be wearing your heart on your sleeve
I'll be wearing a soul that doesn't burn
We'll laugh
Smile
Try again
Or maybe we'll walk by one another
Like strangers
Our eyes
The only recognition of the fire
That once connected two lost spirits

    I just love how you put this all together-two people, love done, chance meeting up again one day. I love the stanza about that chance meeting and one of you wearing their heart on their sleeve and the other wearing a soul that won't burn-just beautiful!
