Don't Hide

by AnnaCG   Jul 31, 2016

Your storm blew down my barriers,
Stoking an ember; dimly glowing.
Beneath these floors, I've buried many,
But I can't do it again without knowing..

How can I be what you say I am,
Such pretty words, you whispered of me.
When I'm just a drop of wine in your glass,
And nothing inside me feels free.

Knotted ropes keep insecurities close
And remind me to stay inside.
But this tiny flame that an ember sprang,
once told me not to hide.

To be continued...
