The Forbidden Soul

by The Fallen Angel   Aug 7, 2016

I am the forbidden soul,
hidden by the shadows,
of darkness in disguise,
forbidden from the life.
I burned down all the bridges,
and raised the walls up high.
I made them stronger,
so it never fell apart.
I bled my heart whole,
and the poison poured.
I gave into the darkness,
so I could never be found.
I turned myself ice-cold,
Desiccated my emotions,
and became empty inside,
to find a whole new me,
A new me, no one wishes to,
recognise or remember!

I love how this is full of dark imagery yet that ray of Hope of finding oneself.
Only thing is I think wish should be wishes.

I agree with Michael, ending things but breathing life into something new. Lots of dark imagery but hope too-

    Hello,

I love the term 'bled my heart whole' to me it suggests an instant death. The old poisoned blood gAve way for new life. Old emotions crumbled leaving a blank new sheet to start again.

This poem is full of dark imagery and yet is breathing hope of new beginnings.

    Well done and take care,

    Michael
