Fighting for life

by deeplydesturbed   Aug 10, 2016

A voice that cries and wings that wildly beat,
You cannot hope to know until you try,
A dwindling world below your worn out feet,
The furious wind lifts you far and high.

Your life is small; the endless sky is vast,
Take a flaming chance and roll the dice,
Above grey clouds you'll soar in flight at last,
The life before you is your paradise.

All that you want and need is called a sin,
The crumbs of love locked away in a cage,
Nobody sees the heart shining within,
The crumbs of love locked away in a cage.

Far over tall mountain peaks of snow-white,
Fly high and don't surrender in your fight.

    Naomi,

Your poetry is quite literally getting better and more accomplished by the day; you have a real flair for rhyme in general.

"A dwindling world below your worn out feet"

This line hit home. It's how I feel about the world I live in today. I'm worn out from walking a meaningless existence.

A truly stunning piece, I see your style is evolving beautifully. Proud of you! :)

My favorite line was definitely: "The life before you is your paradise." Sums up everything I neglect every day of my life.
