Mother of darkness

by Dancing Rivers   Aug 12, 2016

In the deepest forests of my mind
I behold a startling vision of beauty
draped in darkness and light
exuding a warped purity.

This enchantress beckons
to my primal mind
she happens to reckon
she can help me find

all the knowledge of old times
when women folk were seen as divine.
Her raven hair billows
creating a stir among the willows.

As she raises her eyes to heaven
the earth trembles in delight
men and women startle in kind
as the goddess drenches in light

all the sorrows of the earth
the dreams never attained,
babies whom never saw birth
and those without blood in their veins.

She smiles and the clouds dance
across the darkened sky
lit only by her silver eyes
as she begins to chant.

Voice like the wind and the silent hills
brings all life to a halt

Hecate
Maiden
Mother
Crone

All the universe stills
to hear what stories unfold
as his beloved's voice echoes
into the darkest shadows

The world is healed
all faults revealed
have been removed
by the goddess
her light is proof.

Blessed be
Lady Hecate.
