Contemplating You

Sitting in thought, contemplating your face
Wishing you where closer to me
But still I feel your trace.

Wondering how the day passes so slowly
Wanting your hand to hold me
Needing your love always
And those kisses you give so softly.

In my mind I'm brushing your hair
With just my hand to bear
As the time passes quietly
And the night takes you away defiantly.

I sit in places where you sat
Look for traces on the mat
As I search for you after you've departed
Thinking something from you must've been discarded.

I love you from the bottom of my soul
And when you're gone it twists and turns
But I feel you still, and I'll feel whole
Until the hour you return.
