Illuminating Darkly

by Larry Chamberlin   Sep 12, 2016

Learning something new every day
is not necessarily a good thing.
Finding out that your body
has permanently deteriorated,
that surgery cannot correct it,
that physical therapy cannot improve it;
it may be good to know,
but it's not a good thing.

    I can almost feel the frustration in this piece, Larry, especially with the line 'it may be good to know, but it's not a good thing.' Which brings me to my next point - is it even good to know? Sometimes, ignorance really is bliss.

    I can appreciate the necessity in a write like this; sometimes, frustration is best lanced on the page! I love the title too, by the way.

    Take care and I hope these problems are nothing too serious.

    Larry, getting older blows-you are right about some things you just don't want to learn about. I'm sorry about your not so good news-take care-

    Larry, this is a sad piece that hits home for us all I guess. Yes, it is a good thing to learn something new everyday but not this

    Take care Larry,

    This makes me very sad. Getting older is hard. This is an important reminder that I need to start taking better care of myself sooner than later.
