Colors To Die For:

by Scott Cole   Oct 4, 2016

Oh slip into your comfort zone
On these cold and frosty nights,
Put on your coat of many colors
That is quite simply out of sight.

Oh wrap yourself with warmness
But keep that smile upon your face,
For all your leaves of many shades
Will shortly fall with gentle grace.

Oh please count your lucky stars
As the longer days become short,
For Old Man Winter has awakened
And your foliage will need support.

Oh in the darkness of the forest
Your Autumn glare is hard to see,
But the demise of all your leafage
Will not cast shadow on your glee.

For true beauty lies on the inside
So don't you frown or shed a tear,
For your beautiful greenish canopy
Will blossom once again next year.

Such a lovely fall write! I agree with Ben, I usually don't look forward to winter but this poem gave me a different perspective as well. Very nice-

Scott, this is out of this world. The imagery, the words you use and the rhythm are all perfect.

I truly hope his gets nominated as I couldn't as out of votes.

    Scott,

Nice to see a new poem from you; this is lovely.
In honesty, I have never looked well upon the colder months, but this little gem certainly gives me new perspective. Excellent poem.

    Take care,

    Ben
