Cabin in the Woods

by Maple Tree   Oct 4, 2016

I dwell often, among trees I've never visited
where lush greenery, vine-
drapes my soul like an ivy shawl.

It calls to me within whispers of the night,
shadowy figures dance around an achy mind,
creatures comfort tears with a magical dusting-
purification of eyes yearn for death.

I prepare to hermit my heart
bathing in pools of midnight rain showers;
mystical rhapsody dwells
like musty poems written from long ago.

Seeing forgiveness within a wrap around porch
becomes an invitation for a writer with achy hands,
I've grown abandoned-
it's time to settle....

within a cabin in the woods.

    Andrea, what a lovely write! There is nothing better than a cabin in the woods to rest your soul and mind, to be unplugged and one with nature. Ahhhhhhh, I'm relaxed already! Well done-
