After The Rain

by Shelley Williams   Oct 19, 2016

A burden to the mind,
affliction in my stare,
hope has turned to worry,
a life too much to bear.

If only there could be
a way to clear my head,
The peace of mind I need
to get through all the dread.

The rain and the thunder
the lightning of the storm,
Wash away the anguish
and bestow a feeling warm.

After the rain, a rainbow
the faith to conquer fear,
Every color is refreshing
and the sunlight dries a tear.

I grasp every good thought,
let go, the inner pain,
Willing to let the distress
wash away in a calming rain.

    This is soothing Shelley,

Rain can wash away the darkness....even though sad, this piece has an elegant ray of hope! Beautiful
