It's All Gone

by Scrittore   Oct 20, 2016

Don't fake a smile and tell me what you think I want to hear
We both know this is exactly where you want us to be
And I know - I know you say you want to try
But after years and years of all your lies

There's nothing left, it's all gone
There's not a fiber in me left that's strong
Strong enough to fight one more night
Through the years I have tried
To pick us up all alone
There's nothing left
It's all gone

Don't turn it around and pretend to take the blame
We both know you've been pointing the finger my way
You've torn me down till there was only emptiness left inside
You took everything I was till I was hallow and cold

AND NOW
There's nothing left, it's all gone
There's not a fiber in me left that's strong
Strong enough to fight one more night
Through the years I have tried
To pick us up all alone
There's nothing left
It's all gone

But I will rise - I will rise
I will soar to new heights
I will take back everything that I am
So if you think there might be another last chance.

There's nothing left, it's all gone
There's not a fiber in me left that's strong
Strong enough to fight one more night
Through the years I have tried
To pick us up all alone
There's nothing left
It's all gone

This is heart breaking, I think we've all felt this way at one time or another, but I really like the element of hope here, hope is what keeps us going, even when we feel like we don't want to.

    Sad but really impressive write.
