First Catch

by Ren   Nov 1, 2016

In the beginning,
A series of quick glances,
Reel me in.
Leaving me,
Unable to surface,
From drowning in your gaze.
And even when,
You decide to leave me,
Treading dangerous waters...
I find it almost impossible,
To release the hooks,
You embedded so deeply within me.
Scarring me for life,
To forever and always be,
Your First Catch.

Ren, I really liked this a lot. You never forget your first love and every relationship always seems to leave a mark. I like how you compared this to being hooked and scarring. Well done-

    Hello Ren,

I like the fishing metaphor used in this piece - very original.
I guess it can feel like you are hopelessly hooked sometimes, especially in the case of love and even when those hooks are released, the scarring never really goes.

    Well done,

    Ben
