Jane, I can only imagine what this is about with Trump becoming president I think we should all be scared especially America, a friend of mine was saying that he will make America great again or cause WW3 though I disagree that he will or even could make it great again but I guess we have to give everybody a chance even sexist pigs like this.

1: This stanza is you questioning yourself and I think any American lady will be right now because you have been labelled so much in the pas couple of months that you will question yourselves but don't ever think your these things because you aren't. It seems that things will go down hill before they reach rock bottom then be on the up again. The end 2 lines are so very personal, you don't want anybody to look at you because you feel numb with what's going on.

2: I really like the repetition here because I feel it is to reassure yourself that yes, things will be great again bit it will probably take time. Though this stanza is simple, it is very hard hitting and packs a real punch.

What a fantastic write though I wish it was under better times.

    All the best, Em

    Jane,

Certainly an entirely relevant write in these rather worrying times; I can feel your hurt and anger through the screen.
I really hope someone nominates this (there have been a pathetic amount of nominations this week) as I am all out of votes. I will nominate on Monday if it doesn't get the vote it deserves.

Cheer up if you can and stay well,

    Ben

This is saddening. I never expected politics to get worse and deeper into our personal life. But it always proves me wrong; every now and then somethings comes up somewhere and proves for me that we are not free and that there is certain power above us, that no matter how wise or well educated we are - that power has the ability to bring us down.

Well expressed, and well written - the closing lines mix emotions between despair and hope. so truthful.

Wow. Chills, chills, chills. That is all I can say. The pain and the way a lot of us are somehow assured it will all be okay, that there is hope, yet we cannot give a definite time. We know it in our hearts there has to be light, but it seems so far away that it conflicts our peace of mind.

So powerful. I can't even express that. Glad Brookie nominated this.

It reeks of heartache and melancholy. A very sobering piece that's well grounded, it instills that all too real feeling of hopelessness that comes from raw pain. 5/5
