What might have been.

by Jenn   Nov 18, 2016

It is said for all the sad words of tongue or pen.
The saddest are these, 'What might have been."
For me this rings simple and true...
After all I've been through.
Down many paths in life I have wandered..
Regret I never much pondered.
But alas I have had moments..
Brief they are; it's true.
I reconsider everything I thought I knew.
As my world changes to a diffrent hue..
My mind races back to You.
And I realize....I still miss You.
Yes looking back I am sure..
Love sick I was, without cure.
Death of my innocence..
At times the Killer of my Joy..
The master of ploys..
You played with my sanity as if it was a toy.
But Golden Your heart it still was to me.
The way it all ended, how it all had to be...
Grasping at every sliver of cherished moments passed..
Still I'm not surprised it couldn't last.
All the pain and heartache..
Sad words of Tongue or Pen..
Still the saddest is; "What might have been."

    I agree with them!
"What might have been" is a thought that will keep you in the past.
Sometimes you have to change "what might have been"'
    into "what will be"

Jenn, I absolutely loved this. Might have beens and should have beens should be things of the past, what we need to do is look to the future.

Every wheat ferments for good brew. Pain comes to widen reasoning. There's always a place called Forward. When the sun sets, the moon rises.

We always ask "what might have been", but sometimes we should learn to stop asking that question.

    Nice poem.
