Sharing

by Wayne Gates   Nov 21, 2016

I have been thinking about a friend of mine, named Scott.
Scott was troubled with the burdens of life
Like I was, and still can be at times.
We both drank and drugged.
Like the raging addicts that we were.
But there was always one major difference.
When overwhelmed, I reached out.
But Scott pulled inward.
I went to rehab, but Scott did not.
I prayed. Scott did not.
I poured out my pain in verse. Scott did not.
I recovered. Scott did not.
I survive. Scott did not.
Scott took his life, and I began to live mine.
Sharing your burden not only helps you.
It also helps others to relate.
Alone we perish, together we survive.

Believe is the gap between us. A concerned heart, shall make difference.

Two people who chose different path, one lives and one doesn't. If only we could see to reach out. So sad
