Far from your touch...

by Meena Krish   Dec 5, 2016

Far from your
affection yet just
a touch away, this heart treks
through your soft glow
aching for your embrace;

Days stretch its yawn
testing the limits of patience
time wander through galaxies
as it waits to feel your grace;

Far from your vision
yet just a glimmer away
this heart journeys
through sheets of leaves
to wrap itself under your gaze...

    Hello Meena,

    It feels like an age since I have commented on a poem of yours. I am sorry!

    This poem is a lovely little nugget. It manages to convey in 3 short stanza - distance, loss, grief and so much more besides.

    In the 1st stanza, you mention distance apart, but how the heart will travel. The word trek suggests, that although the heart (love) will travel willingly, it is a hard going journey.

    The 2nd stanza, I like particularly the yawn of the days. Days spent missing someone are long days, feeling very stretched, much like a face that yawns, perhaps? These days a tiring; and if it were not for that embrace, it would feel impossible.

    The last stanza, I felt like I was on a coach or a train journey; just gazing out of the window, watching, 'sheets of leaves' pass me by, traveling to my ultimate destination; the one that my hearts desires most. To be with you once more.

    Meena, I enjoyed this poem and will try not to return sooner this time.

    ((hugs)) xx
