Understanding the Heart

Why should we look to judge
and say how it should be?
Put down human appearance
and the image that you see.

Everyone is just as good,
the heart has much to say,
The hours, days and months
cannot take your best away.

We should not exclude,
look at differences with hate,
Forgive enough to heal,
It's this peace that cannot wait.

Accept yourself, and others
regardless of plain sight,
The heart of understanding,
is a beacon shining bright.
