Neverending Nightmares

Agonizing, torturous nightmares,
Cold sweats and screams in the night.
Why can't I forget?

Rough groping hands,
Sinful lust in his evil eyes,
The feeling of shame and despair.

I can't breathe,
Oh mind, please free me
From this never-ending nightmare!

    Totally agree with everything Ben said. Any kind of abuse is sh it but needs highlighting.

    Kasie,

    I cannot imagine what this must feel like but what I do know is this kind of abuse needs highlighting so we are aware of it. When it's kept a secret, shame builds and people think it's them who've done something wrong.
    I don't know why you haven't posted for so long, but the site needs honest writers like you.

      Thank you. That means a lot to me. It happened when I was 11 and for so long I thought I did something wrong. But luckily I have support through family and friends. Writing always helps. Majority of my poems are from my life experiences. Poetry has always been my way of venting.
