At Your Feet (Alouette)

by Meena Krish   Jan 16, 2017

Your name stirs my heart
and rips doubt apart,
eyes swell with love when they meet
your most gracious smile,
prayers I compile
lifts the burden of life's heat

Each sorrow that starts
begins to depart,
heartless tongues cannot defeat
nor turn me hostile,
for they aren't worthwhile
when my world kneels at your feet.

The Alouette, created by Jan Turner, consists of
two or more stanzas of 6 lines each, with the following
set rules:

Meter: 5, 5, 7, 5, 5, 7
Rhyme Scheme: a, a, b, c, c, b

    Meena,

I thought this was written with great precision and care and I think it is one of my favourites from you, I would nominate if I could but it seems that since the "change" of the site I can no longer nominate.

    Wonderful write :)

Meena, this is just beautiful! Prayer is a powerful thing and everything is alright when we just believe and trust in God. Thank you for this, sometimes everyday life gets in the way and muddles those beliefs. Beautifully written-

Meena, this is absolutely beautiful. I am glad you left a note though as I hadn't seen this form before so thanks for that. This is a wonderful poem with a lovely sentiment of love with some great imagery.

1/ This is a good opening with wonderful imagery of this persons name stirring up feelings upon your heart, taking away all your doubt with their eyes full of love and their smile because those are what matters. The love they also feel for you which here, seems to be alot. Love is one of the things that keeps us going, right?

2/ I absolutely loved this ending because no matter how as you are or how hostile others are towards you Aslong as you have this person by your side the world is your oyster so to speak and this is (I feel) what true love would and should feel like. Again, the imagery is wonderful.

    Nominated.
    Kudos,
