My Crown

by Yakori bint Muhammed   Jan 24, 2017

4rd June, 2015.

I sit on the Turkish rug
pondering over a date
with my steaming emotions,
restrained tears beg to flow
to cleanse a grieving soul

A serene day cradles to the
mercy of nature
Tossed into battle
from the cloudy sky
A grimace appears,
a face of depression in alluring scenery

My heart strings at this face
with shades of questions seeking
answers to the nuances of my emotions
From the oasis of my core
a flash of relief blinds

As the day's luminous light spreads
across the glorious horizon,
the sun pours into my room lighting it to life
Hope hovers from afar with a beam
awaiting serenity, faith soothes me

Now, I wear a subdued mood
on this auspicious day
time trickled away
I sit on the Turkish rug
calm moment glides in as chirping birds
usher in twilight's glow
An empath bleeds to heal the cut in her core

    Yakori,

What a rich and visual piece of poetry this is. A stunning write that reads beautifully.
This conjures images of someone meditating and coming to terms with themselves with a little help from nature.

Excellent. All the very best as ever,

    Ben
