You were a part of me
My better half
You had qualities I never had

You woke up something in me
I didn't know I had
You gave me a reason

I thought you were the one
Felt it intuitively
I will marry you

Then the truth dawned on me
I was a cover up
To what you really wanted

So we ended

It wasn't you
It wasn't me
It was the us

That no longer fit
We had reached our agreement
