Sour Poems

by Sunshine   Jan 26, 2017

Your heart is torn
in the beautiful mess
of long violin nights
and imaginary friends.

Dance and spin
like transparent circles
in your tattered dress.
Pass those soft feet
across the filthy floor
till you bleed
the metaphors
and similes
you keep hidden
in your head.

Bleed some color
paint these fleeing
images with tints of red.

You are nothing –

merely made of
sour letters
mixed emotions
and bitter eerie words
playing under your bed.

A lemon - still raw
but dead.
You're of poems
of words of words..

Dancing around
like black butterflies
like white cotton
like soft feathers
of a very quite
very angry bird.

It's about sour poems but such a lovely piece. Brenda said the right word: it's elegant.

Rania, you are a genius, you just know exactly how to captivate, how to make people feel, and its so interesting reading your poetry, it just has a deep intense, raw feeling, and it gives me goosebumps, it gives me chills as I read. Such darkness portrayed so beautifully, I particularly loved the last stanza, that black and white image, so simple but such a contrast within the words.

I'm a rose thorn in your side,
    love, A friend x
