Fabrication

by Everlasting   Jan 30, 2017

No later than the clock could tick a new hour,
I hid near dusty shelves;

I saw spiders crawling over fallen books; the ceiling fan flipping pages;
the sentences becoming words, then ink...

the lamp over the desk was turned off

Therefore, now I just saw...
with my eyes closed.

January 30, 2017 - quick write.

    An introspective view into beating writer's block? It seems like you're expanding Descarte's ideology of "I think therefore I am". A nice little write. :)

    I like clock poems - poems that tick, or tock or alternate a bit of both - yes, the later, they're my favourite ones. :O)

    quick writes - I wrote "choices" and another recent one (I forget now) straight to the posting page. My favourite part is the image of the "fan flipping pages" This has given me an idea...

    Interesting piece. I would not have guessed it was a quick write. The formatting is well done, although the really long line kicking off your second stanza does hinder your flow a little bit. Which seems unlike you, but hey that could be the quickwrite evidence :) Your imagery in this is fantastic, I totally believe that you were witnessing this feeling or moment at some point in time, and you completely transported me to the same moment. I have mixed feelings about punctuation in poetry, but you really pulled off your uses of it in this piece - the completely add to the write.

    Great piece.

      Thank you. As far as the flow goes, hehe I think I'm rusty. I feel like I haven't written in a long time. Weird feeling.
