    I love this and it's so you - I can easily picture you on your piece of land in Australia, mulling over the start of a new day and breathing it all in.

    Nicko...it's so nice to see a poem from you after so long and...it's one that I can relate so very well to!

    Those pesky kookaburras wake me every morning but...I wouldn't have it any other way :)

    Above, suns sweet whisper of dawn,
    reaches through branch and leaf.
    Freckling the ground like random patchwork,
    still damp from darkness’s nightly kiss

    Love this image but..should suns be sun's?

    A whistle awakes my reverence,
    My soot blackened kettle calls out.
    Tea bag in hand.
    An early morning cuppa for a sentimental fool.
    What can be better than that ….

    Adore this stanza...so typical Australian!

    I always enjoy poems about the typical things people do in life, so raw that I can relate and the beauty of the poem etches something in the heart. Great piece.
